Tonight on Torch & Twang’s last show of the semester we were joined ’round the campfire by some saddle tramps in the studio to celebrate the end of classes. We got things started off properly with some Bob Dylan leading us nicely into some modern tunes we can’t get out of our heads with Pretty Pimpin’ by Kurt Vile and House of Winston by Shakey Graves. After discussing our recent pick-ups from a not so cheap record store we moseyed through the required sad part of the night and picked back up with Parties in the U.S.A. by Johnathan Richman and some uncertain niece of Walt Whitman. DJ Sparrow was momentarily possessed by Elvis giving a Johny Cash impression but once they were exorcised we played Dead Flowers by Townes Van Zandt to soothe the mood. We ended off the Night saying See you later, I’m Gone (Robert Lester Folsom) to all the Spartans around campus till next Fall. For us were still going to be hangin’ ’round the Campfire and keeping passerbys warm with some good songs, so don’t forget to catch us again next week.

Dante Chinni-Ianzito, Co-Host of The Progressive Torch & Twang
Outside of his show here at Impact, Dante (he/him) stays very busy around campus. He’s a double major in International Relations and Comparative Cultures and Politics with two minors as well. Beyond that, he spends plenty of time doing nerd stuff like model UN and Dungeons and Dragons. With all that going on, he enjoys spending some time relaxing and listening to a bit of old time folk and country when we can. At the moment, his favorite song lyrics are “Down the sand forever/only music is forever” but ask him in a few days again in a few days and he’ll probably have a different answer for you.
