On Tonights episode of The Torch & Twang the campfire was a little bit smaller than usual, and thats due to the sad, sad absence of DJ DC. Thats right, tonight we kicked off the month long solo management of DJ Sparrow. It was a hard task but I felt I was up to it. We started off the night with some classic Dylan as always, and kept a high energy throughout the first two hours only slowing down a little near the end to let Judy Collins and Colter Wall get some solemn words in. I certainly had fun on my own, from getting to finally play some Roy Orbison and talking about my X-Men fixation by giving my personal picks for Wolverines mixtape. We officially went international with DJ DC calling in from his study abroad to wish me good luck and request Kodachrome by Paul Simon minutes after it already played. To round out the night I let the computer do some suggesting, giving some of our back log of music time to shine instead of the playing just the hits. I ended off the night with a classic by Guy Clark, LA Freeway, then put out the fire on my own. Attached is the playlist from tonight, and I hope to see you ‘round the fire next time Cowpoke, the company is surely needed. Until then I’ll be out, watching the stars.
