Tonight on The Torch & Twang, I brought in a collection of a bunch of fun trail songs on vinyl to play for you all. But first, as tradition dictates… we started with a little bit of Bob Dylan with Man in Me. After that we discussed our feelings on a certain Jeff Bridges movie and moved on to listen to some Michigan-based indie folk. I finally was able to pull out my old vinyls, playing Burry me Not on the Lone Prairie and Gambling Davey and talk about the mailable nature of old western music. As the night moved on DJ Sparrow gave us a brief history of Wagon Wheel and how it all ties back to Dylan. As we got closer and closer to the end of the night we closed things out with a classic old song about a sailor and the sea… Brandy by Looking Glass. We hope you enjoyed the show, and we’ll catch you ’round the fire next week cowpoke.

Dante Chinni-Ianzito, Co-Host of The Progressive Torch & Twang
Outside of his show here at Impact, Dante (he/him) stays very busy around campus. He’s a double major in International Relations and Comparative Cultures and Politics with two minors as well. Beyond that, he spends plenty of time doing nerd stuff like model UN and Dungeons and Dragons. With all that going on, he enjoys spending some time relaxing and listening to a bit of old time folk and country when we can. At the moment, his favorite song lyrics are “Down the sand forever/only music is forever” but ask him in a few days again in a few days and he’ll probably have a different answer for you.
