EAST LANSING- After drawing the No. 2 seed in the Big Ten Tournament, the No. 9 Michigan State women’s soccer team will take on the No. 3-seeded UCLA in the tournament semifinals.
The last time these two teams faced each other was during the regular season, which ended with an even 1-1 draw in East Lansing.
The Spartans are featured in the semifinals for the sixth time in program history but making it back for the first time since 2022. They rank first in the conference in both total goals and scoring offense.
The Green and White had several players named to the All-Big Ten teams. Junior forward Kennedy Bell was named to the first team list, while also earning the Big Ten Forward of the Year award. Bell leads the conference in goals and total points.
On the flip side, the Bruins placed numerous players on Big Ten teams. Most notably led by forward Bella Winn, who earned the Big Ten Freshman of the Year award. Winn was also named to the All-Big Ten second team and All-Freshman teams. She leads UCLA with seven goals, 4 game-winners, and 16 total points.
The two teams will face off tonight at 7 pm at Energizer Park, located in St. Louis, Missouri.
