EAST LANSING – On Monday, MSU announced in a statement that it conducted scheduled COVID-19 testing on its student-athletes back on July 6. According to the university, out of the 74 student-athletes who were tested, none yielded a positive test.

Those who tested negative for the coronavirus a second consecutive time will be permitted to engage in voluntary workouts going forward. Individuals who were tested for the first time must receive another negative test before being cleared to participate in team activities.

Multiple members of the athletic department staff were also tested on July 6; all test results came back negative.
