EAST LANSING— Thursday’s scheduled game between Michigan State and Illinois has been postponed following COVID-19 related issues within the MSU program.

The announcement has the women’s team joining the men’s team with having games postponed tomorrow. There has yet to be a decision on games beyond Jan. 14. The Big Ten will be working with both schools in an effort to make up the game sometime in the future.

The game between the two schools also joins the previously scheduled Rutgers vs. Northwestern matchup, which was also postponed because of COVID-19 issues. The Rutgers women’s basketball team is currently on a pause due to COVID-19.

Michigan State (8-2, 3-2) is currently scheduled to play against No. 13 Michigan on Jan. 18 in Ann Arbor. Tipoff is currently set for 12:30 p.m.
