The State – 9/21/20
September 20, 2020
President of the MSU’s Chapter of Theta Chi, Ryan Welch said he and other fraternity presidents were “blindsided” following a mandatory quarantine of 39 off-campus properties by the health department.
Welch claims that fraternities aren’t the only ones to blame for the outbreak of COVID-19 cases in the area and that him and other frat presidents weren’t given proper warning of the order ahead of time.
Almost half the 2022 class of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program signed a petition asking for tuition relief.
The petition outlines some hardships the class of 2022 has endured and why they deserve compensation, like how they were the first class that had a flipped-classroom curriculum.
Graduate students in the program are allowed to come on campus once a week for an anatomy lab but, first and second year students in the College of Veterinary Medicine aren’t allowed on campus at all.
Yesterday marked the start of MSU’s first virtual homecoming, with events hosted by the MSU Alumni Office, MSU Black Alumni, the University Activities Board and various colleges.
The festivities last all through this upcoming weekend, with the full schedule on the MSU alumni website.
