3-star Derrick Harmon announces commitment to MSU

EAST LANSING — Where there’s smoke, there’s fire.

It has just kept burning for Mel Tucker in recent weeks, as he got another commitment from three-star Derrick Harmon out of Loyola (MI) high school in Detroit.

A 6-foot-4, 300 pound defensive linemen, Harmon is listed as a defensive tackle by 247Sports.com. He’s a three-star according to 247Sports and is listed as the No. 59 defensive tackle in the country for the class of 2021.

Twitter recruiting has taken on a whole new meaning during the COVID-19 pandemic, and he announced the commitment via his Twitter at 3 p.m.

The lineman had offers from Memphis, Purdue, Ole Miss and Southern Mississippi.
