Summer is coming to an end, and while the fall vibes are here, I’m stuck in the sunny vibes. Khalid’s new single, “out of body,” keeps those summer vibes flowing. This song perfectly captures the sweaty, warm, golden hour vibes like no other song could. Having this be his second single of his up and coming album, After the Sun Goes Down, sets up how the album is going to be and feel; holding onto the last moments of summer.
The song starts with a smooth beat and goes into a very addicting melody, setting up for a catchy pre-chorus that gets you on your feet.
“Way too gone off the deep end /
No, I cant swim but I’d still dive for ya /
Sun goes down in the evening on the east end /
But it still shines for ya (yeah)”
Making this song a dance song was such an amazing idea. This song is showing the rawness of meeting people and just letting loose. This song is all about having fun, and that’s what Khalid is trying to portray for this album roll out.
The first single that was released, “in plain sight,” highlights the second single as the fun sister song. These songs highlight the stages of a relationship: from meeting to dating to possibly a cheating partner? But guess we will find out when the rest of the album comes out next week.
