Who doesn’t like Sunday mornings, not all of them, but those which feel like waking up to the opening of your ow romcom. The sun is shining, you feel perfectly rested and you know exactly what to have for breakfast. That’s when I press play on my “Sunday Mornings” playlist, and, you guessed it, it’s for THOSE mornings.

It’s filled with soothing soul from legends like Etta James, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder — and Jalen Ngonda. His music feels like it could have been pulled straight from my mom’s old record collection, yet it is fresh, modern and completely his own.

His song “All About Me” had me hooked instantly. The second I listened to it, I was nodding my head and my shoulders were quick to join. Oh, and it was added to the playlist IMMEDIATELY.

Ngonda’s voice is so enchanting, carrying warmth and healing energy. What makes him stand out is the way he blends lyrics that feel meaningful and present with timeless soul vibes. With his new single, which was released on Sep. 5, 2025, “All About Me” has quickly become my Jam of the Day. It is a song that turns any morning into a Sunday morning.
