EAST LANSING- Graduate guard/forward Julia Ayrault has been named to the Ann Meyers Drysdale National Player of the Year midseason watchlist.
The Ann Meyers Drysdale National Player of the Year award is decided amongst the top 50 finalists in the NCAA, and Ayrault was one of seven players chosen from the Big Ten.
Ayrault is having a record-breaking year for the Spartans, leading the team in scoring, averaging 25 minutes per game, with a .451 FG average and a .352 average from the arc.
Ayrault ranks 12th in the Big Ten in rebounding, averaging 7.9 rebounds per game, while also having a team high of 24 blocks this season, which ranks seventh in the league.
Her journey has certainly been one to watch for the green and white, and her dominant style of play has been a deciding factor for many Spartan wins this season.
Ayrault was selected as a team captain this year for MSU alongside graduate guard Nyla Hampton, and her leadership is defined by her performance and perseverance on and off the court.
No. 20 MSU will face off against in-state rival Michigan at the Breslin Center next Sunday at 2 p.m.
