FINAL: Michigan State snaps losing streak with 68-65 upset over No. 4 Purdue

Michigan State men’s basketball upset No. 4 Purdue 68-65 off a last-minute three from junior guard Tyson Walker Saturday afternoon.

After a devastating loss against Iowa, Tom Izzo introduced a different starting lineup with Julius Marble II and Malik Hall making an appearance in place of Marcus Bingham Jr. and Joey Hauser.

Senior center Gabe Brown broke out of a prolonged slump to lead his team in scoring with 13 points and provide the steadying, go-to presence that the Spartans had been sorely lacking.

Michigan State is now 19-9 overall and 10-7 in Big Ten play.

Erica Simone Barnett takes the stage at Mean Girls at the Wharton

Mean Girls’ National Tour is painting East Lansing in pink from March 1-6 at the Wharton Center.

The show follows the premise of the 2004 classic movie, while adding elements of theater and music to enhance the story for a new age.

Erica Simone Barnett is in the ensemble for the national tour at the young age of 19.

Barnett is a college student studying musical theater at the University of Michigan.

This is not Barnett’s first performance on stage, however, she does feel a peculiar pressure unique to this performance.

Barnett mentioned that the pressure comes from the expectations set by the original Mean Girls movie, and how the stage version will be a little different.
