EAST LANSING – Tight end Noah Davis is the latest Spartan to enter the NCAA transfer portal. He adds to an already long list of six former players to enter the portal this season, including running backs Connor Heyward and La’Darius Jefferson, and wide receiver Cam Chambers.

Davis, a redshirt junior, had his struggles in the green and white uniform. He had just one catch for seven yards back in 2017 and hasn’t found his way onto the box score since.

The Cincinnati native’s decision to leave MSU is less about Davis himself, and more about the new culture at MSU. The Spartans are 4-3 on the season after last week’s 38-0 let down in Madison, Wisconsin against the Badgers. Many fans, including former Spartan defensive tackle Jerel Worthy, are fed up with the MSU coaching staff. After the loss to Wisconsin, Worthy stated:

“We need to start to look at ourselves as a program and figure out if long-standing relationships are going to cost these kids a chance at something great… These kids deserve every chance at success, not mediocrity!”
