Aerial Powers Continues to Dominate in Every Way Possible, Earns Three Player of the Week Awards

Home court advantage doesn’t seem to apply to Aerial Powers. The MSU junior forward recorded a Spartan and career-high of 40 points with eight assists in a Sunday game against Minnesota. Just for good measure she snuck in her ninth double-double of the season, with 27 points and 14 rebounds against Rutgers earlier in the week.

But if you are familiar with Powers’, you’re probably nodding your head.

Just to add to the numbers, this week she earned a record amount of both conference and national attention. In less than 24 hours she nabbed Co-Big Ten Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, ESPNW National Player of the Week and Ann Meyers Drysdale National Player of the Week.

If you call yourself a true Spartan basketball fan, you may want to get to the Breslin this Saturday, Feb.24 when Powers and the No.20 Spartans finish up their regular season against No. 5 Ohio State at 2 p.m.
