DJ Spotlight of the Week | Alex Grein

Jasmine Abbasov

This week the DJ Spotlight is on Alex Grein! Alex is studying Media and Information and been DJing at Impact for a little over four years, so we’re happy to still have him around! Anyone can tune in to hear him on Wednesday from 2-6PM.

1. What made you decide to join Impact and become a DJ?

I listened to the IMPACT all of freshman year, and by sophomore year, I wanted to get a piece of all the action

2. What has been your best on air experience?

I was DJing in a Deadpool suit, then Ed runs into the studio screaming we aren’t broadcasting anything. Several directors soon follow and everyone is confused what Deadpool is doing in the studio and why the broadcast isn’t working. Turns out our connection to the antenna broke during my shift, and it remained broken for a month.

3. How do you think working in radio will affect your future career and life?

My improv skills are definitely on point, and I have a lot more confidence in public speaking situations.

4. What is your favorite part of the station?

All the free CD’s! My Music collection has almost reached a Terabyte in size

5. If you could play an artist non-stop on the air, which would it be?

Most of the stuff from Weezer. Except maybe Raditude

6. What is the best concert experience you have had? Why?

DEMF. Oh wait, “Movement” (I hate that name). But holy crap the music was fantastic. So many fantastic artists and 3 days of chilling with random hippies.

Our next DJ Spotlight of the Week will be out on 11/14!
