True Focus of Winter Olympics: Corruption or Medals?

Seven years ago, Russian President Vladimir Putin traveled to Guatemala City, Guatemala in an effort to win the bid of hosting the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. His proposal of $12 billion dwarfed that of finalists, South Korea and Austria. It was his attempt to show the world a new Russia and that these games were to be the platform of the economic and geopolitical revival of his country.

Were Sherman’s Actions Worthy of a Fine?

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick took a chance to have the 49ers rise above the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Championship. After overcoming a 10-point deficit, Seattle attempted to hold off the 49ers until the last few minutes of the game. The 49ers made a drive for a winning touchdown until Kaepernick’s final pass.

From the Pact: Can the Wings Keep Their Playoff Streak Alive?

The Detroit Red Wings have not played up to their full potential this year.

The team is currently sitting in fifth place in the Atlantic Division with 52 points after 48 games played. With the long list of injuries still in the forefront of everyone’s brain, the Wings are in a predicament that could cost them their 22-season streak of consecutive playoff appearances.
