Twenty-six year-old guard D.J. Augustin has signed a two-year,$6 million deal with the Detroit Pistons. The former No. 10 overall pick has had anything but a spotless career, but could be on the verge of a comeback after a successful season with the Chicago Bulls. Joining Augustin will be veteran forward Caron Butler, 34, who is set to make $4.5 million next season with the Pistons.
When the Detroit Tigers acquired Austin Jackson from the New York Yankees in a three-way trade with the Arizona Diamondbacks (who received Edwin Jackson and traded pitcher Max Scherzer to the Tigers) they saw their center fielder of the future.

Having just finished in first place of the Great Lakes West Conference in their inaugural season of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL), Lansing United has come a long way since winning its first exhibition game back in May. This prosperity has grown out of the fundamental principle of working together as a team, something that has been stressed from the initial practices earlier this year.
At some point this season, Detroit fans have called for the heads of all three outfield starters: Rajai Davis, Austin Jackson and Torii Hunter.

All three players have looked valuable to the Tigers at some point during the first four months of the season, and while their sporadic play may have satiated fans, Brad Ausmus may not be convinced.

United wrapped up a Great Lakes West Championship with a 2-2 tie against Detroit City F.C. in front of 2,014 fans at MSU’s DeMartin Stadium. Team owner, Jeremy Sampson joins the show to discuss the dream weekend and announce a massive statement to United fans and the city of East Lansing.

In front of a crowd of 2,014 at DeMartin Stadium on the campus of Michigan State University, Lansing United tied Detroit City F.C., 2-2, to clinch a spot in the Great Lakes playoffs.
Through the first 19 minutes of the first half, both teams went back and forth, opening up a few scoring chances, but neither could convert.
In the 20th minute, United forward, Brian Cunningham, changed the game when he went on the counter up the right-hand side of the field and hit a low-driving cross towards the Detroit six-yard box, which found the head of United forward, Matt Brown, who flicked it on to the back post and scored.

In an unexpected, yet understandable announcement by Michigan State Friday, redshirt sophomore Ezra Robinson previously stated that he received a release from his scholarship and is exploring his transfer options.

Continuing to surround himself with people from his past, Van Gundy next hired old college basketball rival Jeff Bower as the organization’s general manager.
