Octopi Hockeytown – #4 – 3/13/14

The Detroit Red Wings have played another week of hockey and with 18 games left this season, and the team is in need of major victories. This week’s episode of Octopi Hockeytown will answer all questions and more!

Austin Goodman, host of Octopi, breaks down the past week of play starting off in New Jersey, then coming home for two, respectively historical nights and then finishing off the week in New York against Lundqvist and the Rangers.

Defenseman Niklas Lidstrom’s No. 5 was raised to the rafters of Joe Louis Arena on Thursday evening. But motivation and inspiration were not enough for the Red Wings to put away their long-time foes, the Colorado Avalanche, on such a special night.

Injuries are still piling up for the Red Wings organization, but how many of them are substantial? Can the Red Wings make the playoffs with their current four starting centers on the injured list? All of these questions will be answered.

The trade deadline has come and gone as well. The Red Wings made a major move in trading small assets, for a very large return, by bringing in ex-Nashville Predator, David Legwand.

Austin will talk about how much of an impact the trade will make on the rest of the Red Wings’ season and preview the next week of play, on this week’s episode of Octopi Hockeytown.
