Coming in hot off the release of his star- studded “Slide” collaboration with Frank Ocean and Migos, it appears that Calvin Harris’ siege of the summer is only beginning. Last week he continued to shatter expectations and set precedents of what are considered eclectic features with his release of “Heatstroke.”
Maintaining the same up-tempo feel of his last release, Harris employs a trio consisting of Young Thug, Pharrell Williams and Ariana Grande who all bring something special to the track in their own respect. Whether it’s Thugger’s undeniable lyrical prowess, Pharrell’s careful co-production or Grande’s silky- smooth vocals, Calvin Harris achieves a special brand of accessibility on this track that is sure to find its way into the rotations of many as the temperature continues to rise- pun intended.
Looking forward- it appears that Harris has no intention of stopping the barrage of good vibes, and every intention of making good on this promise:
All my songs in 2017 have been sonically designed to make you feel fucking incredible
