DJ of the Week | George McNeill

Stephanie Stapert and Camille Rogers

DJ spotlights are back! We’re excited to introduce you to this quirky guy, George McNeill! George is an avid member of Impact doing everything from telling jokes on-air, writing for our website and bringing music to your ears via the airwaves. You can hear his interesting anecdotes as well as win prizes during his shift on Thursdays from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

What’s your role at The IMPACT?

I’m the Assistant Program Director! I help Amber (our Program Director) implement all music and bumpers onto our airwaves. Additionally, I help manage and facilitate our entire airstaff of DJs.

What made you decide to join The IMPACT and become a DJ?

I was looking for a creative outlet; I wasn’t happy in my current academic and social situation, and I wanted to try something new. Impact has been the perfect incubator to learn new skills and find fun people to collaborate with.

What has been your best on-air experience?

When Avengers: Endgame was coming out, I pretended that we were having Chris Evans on-air to promote it, and I was plugging it all day! We ended up having Jeremy Renner on, so it was cool – just not AS cool. And yes, I did a perfect impression of him.

What’s your zodiac sign?

I’m a Virgo. According to everything I’ve read, I have a great memory, I’m very organized, polite, and sad. But I defy the stereotypes by having a terrible memory and only being a little sad! AND I’m funny!

What’s your favorite meme?

Spice Adams’ laugh. (“Ahh hah haaahh”!) That makes me wheeze almost every time I hear it. A friend and I took a vacation to California this summer, and he and I would say that nearly every day. It annoyed everyone else, but it still is so fun for me.
