Women’s Basketball Falls to Buckeyes

After a great home victory against Indiana (72-57), the Spartans went on the road to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes Monday night.

Both Tori Jankoska and Aerial Powers scored in the double figures, but that was not enough to stop the Buckeye fight. Ohio State defeated the Spartans 76-62.

Powers led the team with 25 points, followed by Jankoska with 19. Powers also earned her NCAA leading 18th double-double of the season.

The Big Ten’s leading scorer, Kelsey Mitchell, led the Buckeyes with a game-high 31 points. Ameryst Alston followed behind with 19 points.

The Spartans are now 11-11 overall and 3-8 in the Big Ten.

Next up for the Spartans is a home game against the University of Michigan Wolverines. The game will take place on Thursday, February 5 at 7 p.m.
