Octopi Hockeytown – #5 – 3/17/14

The Red Wings played two games since the last time Octopi Hockeytown aired. Austin Goodman is back again with more information on the Wings’ banged up team coming down the stretch.

The team got a big win against the Edmonton Oilers on Friday evening. After letting up another third period goal to send the game into overtime and eventually a shootout, fans were biting their fingernails in anticipation for the shootout. Fortunately, the game ended in favor of Tomas Tatar and the Detroit Red Wings after he netted a goal after freezing Oilers goaltender, Viktor Fasth.

Against the Blackhawks, the ending was not as sweet as the beginning. The Red Wings let up three goals in the last 20:14 of game play against the Hawks.

After reviewing the week, Austin will talk in-depth about the team’s injury issues, break down each injured Red Wing and their current prognosis.

We will once again finish up this week’s edition of Octopi Hockeytown with Austin breaking down the standings, statistics and the week of play ahead.
