Spartans Return Home to Host the Gophers

Michigan State is on a role the past few games and it looks like that streak may continue.

The No. 23 Michigan State Spartans (18-8, 10-3) return home to host the Minnesota Gophers (17-10, 6-7) on Monday.

MSU is on a four-game winning streak after defeating Wisconsin 76-66, Thursday. Minnesota is coming off of a 63-42 loss against No. 21 Purdue.

The last time these teams met was in the Big Ten opener, MSU came out with an 81-56 blowout win in Minneapolis in early January.

Five Spartans scored in double digits that afternoon. Tori Jankoska led the team with 14 points. Senior Klarissa Bell was perfect from the field (4-4) making all three of her three-pointers. She ended up with 11 points, six rebounds, five assists and two steals.

Minnesota center Amanda Zahui B. led the Gophers with 21 points, seven rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block. Gopher guard Rachel Banham followed with 13 points and five assists. She now averages 22.7 points per game.

The Spartans will face the Gophers at home in East Lansing with a tip-off set for 7 p.m.
