Spartans Head to Northwestern for Their Last Road Game
February 27, 2014
As the regular season nears its end, the No. 21 Michigan State Spartans travel to Northwestern in hopes of winning their final road game.
Michigan State is coming off of a 75-61 win over Minnesota and Northwestern is on a six-game losing streak after losing to Ohio State, 71-62.
Overall, the Spartans are 40-22 in the all-time series against the Wildcats and have won the last 19-straight over Northwestern.
Senior Annalise Pickrel has been quiet these past few games, but looking at the past, she should play very well against the Wildcats. She averaged 14.5 points against Northwestern in two games last season.
Junior Becca Mills averaged 10 points against Northwestern in her first four games in just 20.3 minutes and she went 4-5 from behind the arc.
The Spartans (11-3) are tied in the loss column in the Big Ten for first place with Penn State (12-3) and Nebraska (12-3). MSU has a chance of at least sharing the Big Ten title if they win their last two games.
The game tips-off at 9 p.m. in Evanston, Ill. at Welsh-Ryan Arena on Big Ten Network.
