MSU Looks to Capture Season Series against Ohio State

Saturday evening No. 25 MSU will be hosting the Ohio State Buckeyes. In the last meeting between the conference rivals the Spartans won 82-68.

In the Spartans last game they lost to No.22 Nebraska, 76-56. Aerial Powers led the team with 17 points and seven rebounds. MSU shot 39.3 percent (22-of-56) in that the game, which is below their season average of 45 percent.

Sunday, Ohio State fell to No. 9 Penn State also by a 20-point margin, 74-54. Raven Ferguson and Ameryst Alston both led the team in scoring both with 16 points. The Buckeyes were 5-23 from behind three-point range line.

Michigan State is coming into the matchup with a conference record of 7-3. Freshman Aerial Powers leads the team in scoring with an average of 13.5 points per game. The Spartans are looking to move up the ladder in both the conference and national rankings.

Ohio State is coming 4-7 in Big Ten conference play. They have dropped the last 6 six of eight games they have played. Sophomore guard Ameryst Alston leads the team in scoring with 17.3 points per game.

The game begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Breslin Center. It will be televised by the Big Ten Network and broadcasted on the radio via by WVFN 730AM.
