Losing Streak Continues for Women’s Basketball

After back-to-back losses, the MSU Spartans women’s basketball team was looking to get a win on the road. They traveled to play Virginia Tech, after playing Florida State on the road the game before. And unfortunately, they were unable to break the losing streak.In their last game against Florida State on Wednesday, the Spartans lost 60-58. And they lost this game to the Hokies, 72-66. The Spartans have been keeping games close, but it just has not been enough to win.

The starters for Saturday afternoon’s game were Klarissa Bell, Cara Miller, Becca Mills, Annalise Pickrel and Branndais Agee. Agee made her first career start.

Mills led the team in scoring with 19, followed by Agee with 11, and Pickrel and Aerial Powers each adding eight points. For rebounds, Bell led with seven followed by Aerial Powers with six. The Spartans also had 26 points off the bench.

Mills was an effective player in the game. Along with her 19 points, she had 10 total rebounds, was 3-3 for free throws and played 37 minutes.

The Spartans return home against Oakland University on Sunday, December 15 at 2 p.m.
