Women Swimmers, Divers Cruise Past Ball State

Michigan State v Ball State complete meet results

Win number two was notched by the Michigan State Women’s swimming and diving team Friday night in East Lansing, as the Spartans topped Ball State 182-118.

Michigan State won five of the first seven events, including a dominant first and second place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle by junior Rebecca Berman (10:19.85) and sophomore Chelsea Abbott (10:22.77).

Senior Summer Stickler won the 200-yard freestyle, continuing her undefeated season in that event , and senior Brooke Telander won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 59.30.

Diving was also dominant as all four Spartans placed first through fourth in both the three and one meter boards.

Another highlight of the meet was Freshman Sarah Love, who won both the 50-yard freestyle (23.87) and the 100-yard butterfly (57.21).

The men’s and women’s team are back in action next Friday, November 8 at McCaffree Pool to take on Grand Valley State University at 5 p.m.
