You know that feeling when you walk outside and you immediately feel like you’re swimming? This playlist is for exactly that time of year. August comes with so many feelings I wanted to encapsulate: the first being humidity. The wet, soggy air that just clings to your clothes has a certain aura to it that some of these songs capture. August is vitality but also disappointment. You’ve just basked in two months of summer bliss, when the feeling of freedom has never felt truer. Then, August hits, and you’re reminded of your life before. You’re changed, and now, to some degree, you have to go back to the way things were. I hope these songs make you feel all of those complexities, the dread, the energy, the dew and the stillness that August brings.
