EAST LANSING – Two former Michigan State men’s soccer players have announced their commitment to play for the Western Michigan University men’s soccer program, per WMU Athletics.

Defenders Nick Stone and Will Perkins will head to Kalamazoo to play for head coach Chad Wiseman and the Broncos.

Perkins and Stone are two out of the six transfers that the school announced.

Perkins, a Detroit native, was named a 2022 Preseason Big Ten Men’s Soccer Player to Watch, and has appeared in 58 matches for the Spartans, tallying six goals and seven assists as a Spartan.

Stone made 52 starts during his tenure in a Spartan uniform, scoring two goals and adding three assists. He also led the team in minutes during the 2021 season with 1,576 minutes played.

The Broncos ended the 2022 season in second place of the Mid-American Conference, with a 5-1-2 record.

Michigan State men’s soccer opens up the 2023 season on Aug. 24 against Loyola Chicago at DeMartin Stadium.
