Ugly Cherries | PWR BTTM

Ashlee Krawczyk

Music plays the role of therapy throughout most artists’ and listeners’ lives. We jam out to our favorite hits to relax, pump ourselves up, or like PWR BTTM, to remind ourselves that everything is going to be alright.

Self-proclaimed “queer-punk” singer/songwriter/drummer, just to name a few skills under his belt, Ben Hopkins told BreakThruRadioTV that he wrote the song “Ugly Cherries” for himself. Ashamed for his homosexuality, Hopkins reflected he felt like the “bad fruit” while growing up, and this song is one of Hopkins’ means of accepting himself.

Catch both Hopkins and fellow front-man Liv Bruce in all their gender-bending, glitter glory when they hit the road this fall.
