Self-proclaimed “queer-punk” singer/songwriter/drummer, just to name a few skills under his belt, Ben Hopkins told BreakThruRadioTV that he wrote the song “Ugly Cherries” for himself. Ashamed for his homosexuality, Hopkins reflected he felt like the “bad fruit” while growing up, and this song is one of Hopkins’ means of accepting himself.
