With nothing more than a guitar and a drum set, the Grand Rapids-based Bangups craft full bodied and energetic rock and roll. The swinging “Ego Wrecking Ball” served as the album closer on Hellcat!, their most recent effort.
It worms its way into your head and stays there long after it’s played through. The dirty guitar and vocals add to the homegrown aesthetic of their music, and gives them a distinct sound that help them stand out in the sometimes overcrowded indie rock scene.
