EAST LANSING — Michigan State’s football coach Mel Tucker and Director of Athletics Alan Haller, have each announced an official statement following the altercations between athletes from Michigan State and Michigan.

“The behavior we reviewed was both uncharacteristic of our football program and unacceptable,” Haller said.

Michigan State and the University of Michigan are each working with the Big Ten and law enforcement to continue evaluating the events that took place in the tunnel of Michigan Stadium after the conclusion of the game.

Tank Brown, Khary Crump, Angelo Grose, and Zion Young have all been suspended from the team, effective immediately.

“The initial student athlete suspensions will remain in place until the investigations are complete,” Tucker said.

More players may be suspended as more information becomes available.

“The health and safety of our student-athletes, coaches, personnel, and Spartan Community remain our number one priority,” Tucker added.
