This is a collection of some of the catchiest and lyrical hip hop and R&B songs I’ve heard in recent years, both new and old. Though these songs all have a lo-fi underground aesthetic to them, there’s no true trend with respect to artists here, ranging from Joey Bada$$ to Frank Ocean to Jack Harlow. The one thing they all have in common is a smooth, lyrical and, at times, grungy/urban vibe. These are songs you won’t hear on any radio station (at least around here).
