MSU drops out of AP Top 25 after losing to Purdue

EAST LANSING— After defeating No. 15 Rutgers and losing to unranked Purdue at the Breslin Center on Jan. 8, Michigan State fell out of the top 25 in this week’s AP poll rankings. The Spartans are now 2-4 in Big Ten conference play which has them coming in at 11th in the Big Ten standings. MSU is also currently 8-4 on the season with losses to Northwestern, No. 9 Wisconsin, No. 23 Minnesota, and Purdue.

The Spartans will have one of their most challenging matchups on Thursday as they take on Luka Garza and the No. 5 ranked Iowa Hawkeyes (12-2, 5-1) in Iowa City. Following Thursday’s contest, MSU will return home for a battle with the Indiana Hoosiers (9-5, 3-3) on Sunday afternoon.

Tipoff on Thursday night is set for 9:00 p.m.
