What’s your role at The IMPACT?
Website Manager
What made you decide to join The IMPACT and become a DJ?
I joined Impact since I love music and wanted to be more involved with it. I joined the video, content, and street teams until I became the Website Manager! I did not want to be a DJ at first but ended up being trained once I was hired. After training and seeing how much fun other DJ’s (shoutout Justin & Katie) were having I decided to get a weekly shift!
What has been your best on-air experience?
My first live shift someone called in and said that I made their day. I asked people to call in with their “favorite fruit-flavored song” and he thought it was hilarious and said that I should keep up the good work as a DJ!
What is the best concert experience you have had? Why?
Seeing EDEN and VERITE. VERITE opened for EDEN and I, for whatever reason, forgot that she was opening until minutes before she got on stage. This was a meaningful show since I was listening to one of VERITE’s songs on REPEAT that whole week. It was so meaningful to see the songs performed live and then get the opportunity to meet her afterwards.
What’s your zodiac sign?
Taurus Sun, Sagittarius Moon, Aquarius Rising.
How do you think working in radio will affect your future career and life?
Working at Impact has shaped my life and taught me things that I would have not have learned otherwise. It has brought me wonderful friends, a roommate, and experiences. I have truly explored each department at the station and it has been such a pivotal part of my college experience. From attending concerts to DJing, interviewing artists, creating a website, writing articles, participating podcasts and promoting the station as a whole. When it comes to a future career, I think I will continue to write and work for a place that promotes/ markets things that matter to me. I have also learned a lot about what it’s like to work in a place that has a lot of different departments and I think those skills and things I’ve learned will translate into any job I get. Also if I thought music was important to me before working at Impact, it is even more so important to me now. My music taste has also grown a lot.
What’s your favorite dining hall?
Wilson when there was late night; the build your own pasta is INCREDIBLE. My group of friends would meet their like every night my freshman year; a lot of memories were made there. Landon is an underrated dining hall though.
