DJ Spotlight of the Week – DJ Zar

Stephanie Stapert, Website Manager

Our DJ of the Week is none other than the host of the Vibe, DJ Zar! When she’s not in class, studying journalism, she is broadcasting sick beats and vibes. DJ Zar is a senior and will be leaving us shortly, but until then, catch her on the Vibe every Saturday night from 8 p.m. to midnight!

What made you decide to join The IMPACT and become a DJ?

I wanted to be a part of something cool & I’m a music head, this only seemed right.

What has been your best on-air experience?

Cackling with artists I’m interviewing is always a good time (shout out to James Gardin).

What is the best concert experience you have had? Why?

That’s so hard…I’ve been in love with this k-pop group called SHINee and when they came to the U.S. for the first time my twin & I went to go see them. When I tell you the house was jumping…

How do you think working in radio will affect your future career and life?

I’ll definitely be doing work in Broadcast, the Vibe has really helped me find my voice. It’s something special.

What is your favorite album of 2019 so far?

Oof…I’ve had Igor & KIRK on repeat.

If you were on a deserted island, who would you bring with you, and why?

I would bring Castile soap…I wanna be hopeless but clean.

What’s a time you laughed so hard you cried?

My sister and I were 16 and discovered “derp” memes and literally almost laughed up a lung.

What’s your favorite dining hall?

SNYPHI ALL DAY.

If you could have dinner with any person, dead or alive, who would you pick?

Michael Jackson…I’m sure that’d be a great story.

What’s your favorite meme?

Keke Palmer…”Sorry to this man” always gets me.
