Green & White Report – 9/1/19 – Tailgate Season
September 1, 2019
The Green & White Report is permanently a two-hour show!
In this edition of The Green & White Report, Julian Mitchell is back on the mic alongside Ryan Rabinowitz, as the duo is back on the air for the first time since the summer break.
Ryan and Julian kick off the show by giving their thoughts on MSU football’s game against Tulsa on Friday, where the Spartans defeated the Golden Hurricane’s 28-7 (4:52).
Afterward, Ryan and Julian catch up on their summer (24:57) and invite MSU men’s soccer beat reporter Adam Bakr as he recaps the draw against SIUE on Friday (35:05).
Following suit, Ryan and Julian invite Producer Hikaru Kudo to the mic, as he gives his thoughts and reactions on MSU women’s soccer’s 2-0 victory against Eastern Michigan University on Thursday (41:12).
To wrap up the first hour of the show, Ryan and Julian give their dos and don’ts of tailgating including being prepared and having a TV (50:18).
The second hour of the show begins with a brand new segment: The Sparty Awards. Every week, Ryan and Julian pick a theme and give their top awards on that theme. This week’s edition: Total freshman moves (1:05:20).
From The Sparty Awards, we hop over to sports stories from the summer including the St. Louis Blues winning the Stanley Cup, Andrew Luck’s retirement and Antonio Brown’s drama-filled pre-season (1:22:34).
To wrap up the show, Sports Director Joe Dandron joins the co-hosts as he talks all things college football and his predictions, as well as his takeaways from the MSU football game on Friday (1:39:50).
The Green & White Report would like to thank Programming Director Amber Kienutske and Assistant Programming Director George McNeill for permanently extending our show to two-hours!
