Octopi Hockeytown – #1 – 1/27/14

The Detroit Red Wings had a solid week (3-1-1) through a five-game homestand that was long awaited after two four-game road spurts. The team has struggled with injuries and are still dealing with the inconsistencies of playing time due to multiple injuries. Every game is a new team with a new dynamic when it comes to the Wings this season. There is no consistency in net or in the goal-scoring column.

With help from up-and-coming all-stars: Riley Sheahan, Tomas Jurco, Tomas Tatar and Gustav Nyquist, the Red Wings have maintained a spot in the standings that leaves them in full contention for a 23rd straight playoff appearance.

Austin Goodman breaks down each game piece by piece as well as provides some of the top highlights of the week along with some of the lows.

All of this and more will be talked about on this week’s edition of Octopi Hockeytown.
