Swim and Dive Preview: Grand Valley State
November 8, 2013
As both the men’s and women’s swim and dive team prepare for Grand Valley State Friday night, a lot of meaning is behind the meet. Travel team cuts are two weeks away and swimmers and divers need to make those cuts in order to stay on the active roster.
The Lakers will give the Spartans close races, which will force swimmers to swim fast, hopefully allowing swimmers to make those cut times said Matt Gianiodis.
This is the first meet both the men’s and women’s team have competed together since October 18 in Iowa City, and the men’s team has not swam in a meet since then.
The meet also marks the first time all year the team will have its full coaching staff present, as both Gianiodis and Assistant Coach Kathleen Milloy‘s fathers passed away last month.
The meet will begin at 5 p.m. at McCaffree Pool in IM West.
