There weren’t many artists that had as successful of a year as Yaeji did in 2017. She had a variety of excellent music videos to compliment her two well-received EP’s Yaeji and EP2. So far this year, we haven’t heard much from Yaeji, but it seems as if she is ready to pick up where she left off.
Yaeji returns after her busy 2017 with a brilliant new single, “One More.” The Korean-American electronic music artist known for her genre-bending tracks gives us a familiar sound that does well with combining house and hip-hop.
The song starts with dark synths behind Yaeji’s moving melody as she sings in Korean. Then the track emits a soothing and hypnotic atmosphere with a thumping kick, and as the record progresses it grows larger with wide and bright synths to give the song an infectious climax. On Twitter, Yaeji said the song is about, “…enduring and coming to terms with pain until you have the strength to forgive and move on.”

This track doesn’t stray far from her expected style but does just enough to differentiate itself from the rest of her discography. Play it in bed, in the car or at a party, “One More” is a perfect return to the spotlight for Yaeji and shows us once again how special her versatile sound is.
