Lana Del Rey, the singer-songwriter from New York City who is most commonly known for “Summertime Sadness” and “Young And Beautiful,” is back for the first time since her 2017 album Lust for Life. This new single is the first release off her upcoming 2019 album. This will be Lana Del Rey’s sixth studio album and has yet to be given a name.
“Mariners Apartment Complex” has the same soulful vibes of dreamy pop-rock that Lana Del Rey’s music always has, along with her notorious dark love mood. This time as she sings to someone about how she is doing better than they think she is, that she’s not that one that needs saving. Over an acoustic guitar melody and steady drumbeat, she claims “they mistook my kindness for weakness.” This soft song is Lana Del Rey’s first of many collaborations with the famous producer, Jack Antonoff, who is also the lead singer of the band, Bleachers. Fans eagerly anticipating the album can also check out Lana’s second single “Venice Bitch” which was released this Tuesday.
