The English indie rock artist, James Bay, is finally back with a new release since nearly three years after his debut album Chaos And The Calm, which features songs like “Hold Back The River” and “Let It Go.” The singer/songwriter has a lot of high expectations to live up to as his soulful first album paved his career and landed him three Grammy nominations in 2016. This new single is the first taste of his upcoming studio album set to come out sometime this spring, which is still yet to be titled.
“Wild Love” shows a whole different side of James Bay, revealing a new sound and style. He has geared away from his soft acoustic feel to a more electrified pop version of himself. His soothing voice and harmonic guitar skills, however, are still charmingly displayed as he sings about falling in love with someone and giving them “wild love/ the kind that never slows down.” Along with his new direction, James Bay remarkably said goodbye to his trademark long hair and fedora hat, meaning he’s truly serious about recreating himself and this whole new vibe.
Without a doubt, Bay has his fans surprised, yet excited and anticipating a unique second album.
