Our new DJ Spotlight of the Week is Dom Korzecke! Dom has been a part of Impact for quite a while, not only is he one of the hosts for The Basement, our Thursday show that showcases local artists, but he is also our Special Projects Director. When he’s not at Impact or planning a local music festival (check out Stoopfest), he’s studying Public Policy and Economics. Tune in to The Basement every Thursday at 8PM for some local tunes chosen by Dom!
1. What made you decide to join Impact and become a DJ?
I was a freshman at MSU and wanted to meet other people who liked music, I had been listening to the station for a long time and thought this would be the place to go!
2. What has been your best on air experience?
Every experience I have on air is my best.
3. How do you think working in radio will affect your future career and life?
It probably won’t, but that’s the beauty of it! Radio can be for anybody even if it has nothing to do with their career path.
4. What is your favorite part of the station?
The people here are sweet.
5. If you could play an artist non-stop on the air, which would it be?
Smashmouth, specifically All Star.
6. What is the best concert experience you have had? Why?
I really don’t like doing favorites, but I’m always a fan of local ska shows, although those are a dying breed. There’s really nothing quite like em’.
The next DJ Spotlight of the Week will be out on 3/20.
