After a three-year hiatus, mysterious electronic project Blank Banshee returned last month with their third album, Mega.
A leading artist in the sample-obsessed “vaporwave” scene, Blank Banshee is best known for their integration of complex trap beats within the typical vaporwave onslaught of obscure video game synths and anime references. Mega’s third track, “Frozen Flame,” opens with a placid keyboard melody before diving into a busy groove.
