An anthem about being perpetually late hits home for a lot of college kids. Rizzle Kicks’ newest song highlights the repercussions of tardiness which, as The Guardian points out, “are minimal at first – pissed-off mates, spending too much on taxis – halfway through the song, things take a catastrophic turn: their best friend ends up hating them, one of them misses the birth of their baby, and they get turned away from the gates of heaven and end up in hell.”
Spending forever in hell because you missed the 27 bus? It’s clever, funny, and catchy — a great tune to start off the week. While we might miss our 8 a.m, at least we’re not in literal hell.
