For a song off of an album that was made while recovering from a serious car accident, “Duplex Planet” is a hidden feel-good jam.
Deerhunter released their album Fading Frontier in October and it maintained the classic dark, twisted, garage rock feeling we know and love. There are a couple unpredictable exceptions, one of them being “Duplex Planet.” This song brings us back to the mystical dreaminess of an earlier album, Halcyon Digest. The use of the harpsichord and the echo of background sounds versus the solemn lyrics make it the perfect song for a day with complete overcast.
