Halloween is here once again. It’s that one day of the year when the ghouls and goblins come out to play, and we are able to get our fix of all things occult and supernatural. Or maybe just jam out to the “Monster Mash”, while stuffing our faces with candy till feeling sick.
Part of what makes Halloween Halloween is the music. For some, snapping along to The Addams Family theme song will do, while others find that blasting “Monster Mash” on repeat till their ears are bleeding is the way to go. One band that should find its way into everyone’s Halloween rotation is The Cramps. Known for their holiday- centric songs (Zombie Dance, Creature From The Black Leather Lagoon, I Was A Teenage Werewolf) and unorthodox live performances, no single track from this band will serve you wrong around this time of year.
While any of their songs are suitable for the occasion, make sure to give the track “Human Fly” (1989) a listen. Inspired by the 1958 film The Fly, the track has a quick paced beat and eerie sound that will get you in the spirit for the night to come.
