There is always that one song by every band or that’s about a specific someone — a boy, a girl, maybe even a pet rat. Either way, you know what I’m talking about.
Those are usually the good ones, and here’s another one for you. Natalie by SoCal band Hunny is about this cool girl (I think her name is Natalie) who the lead singer falls for after spending some time together, but just doesn’t understand why she isn’t getting back to him.
First things first, let’s talk about this bass line. VERY captivating. I saw them perform live and could not get it out of my head. That was key to helping me figure out the name as I binged through all of their music.
Second, the song has some amazing lyrics. “Help me understand your pain, your ache, your loving”. Totally “aww” worthy right? The dude’s a total sweetheart. This Natalie girl seems to really have tantalized him.
Anyways, sappiness aside, Natalie is an enjoyable listen. You’ll probably end up like me wailing the lyrics out trying to sound like the lead singer, but that’s always a good sign.
This band is one to watch. Check out their debut EP Pain, Ache, Loving (sounds familiar?) out now. They are also currently touring with cool cats The Neighbourhood and Bad Suns. Unfortunately, they already passed through Detroit, but hopefully their EP will convince you to catch them next time.
