After his recent visit to Michigan State’s campus, high school senior forward Miles Bridges and five-star recruit seems to be very high on joining Cassius Winston, the recent MSU recruit, according to kentuckyradiosports.com.
The radio host, Matt Jones, wrote on his blog Sept. 21 the chances University of Kentucky has to land the top recruit Bridges. Unfortunately for Big Blue fans, it dis not look so good.
“I am hearing that Bridges had a tremendous visit to Michigan State and that they put on the full court press for he and other talents,” Jones wrote. “If forced to predict as of today, I would bet on Izzo getting the commitment.”
A few months ago it was all but certain Bridges was headed to Kentucky. However, with Michigan State bringing out former players, particularly Draymond Green and Adreian Payne, along with current 2016 recruits, to meet Bridges, it has seemed to spark more of an interest in the top-10 ranked player. The late September addition of Cassius Winston could not hurt either, as the two were spotted together in a recent Twitter picture.
Joe Rexrode of the Detroit Free Press wrote more about MSU’s chances.
“The fact that Bridges moved up his Kentucky visit to this weekend would seem to be a positive sign for MSU,” Rexrode wrote. “He was supposed to visit for Kentucky for ‘Big Blue Madness’ on October 16th, which has become a huge recruiting tool for Calipari’s program.”
If Michigan State is able to pull this off it would be a monumental addition to the already great recruiting class Izzo has been able to clinch. This would certainly be his best class based off rankings, and would help build off a team that will have players that have Final Four experience.
Bridges announces his decision Oct. 3.
But it seems Izzo is not done yet.
“The addition of Bridges arguably would clinch Tom Izzo’s best class, and the Spartans still are recruiting the top-rated player in the class: Detroit native Josh Jackson.”
